
Since pandemic started, like most of us, I also have been struggling to balance life with my schoolwork and my children. In doing so, I could not maintain my desired weight and I gained more than fifteen pounds. I have always been a very careful about my health but in life sometimes it is hard to be self-motivated.
This year I finally thought I should try a fitness challenge. One of my Dubai based friend, who is a coach, told me about this program. In spring break 2022, I started C-9 program. This weight loss program is designed for nine days only. It cleanses your body, helps to kick start, strengthen mindset, and breaking bad habits of unnecessary eating.
The first two days were very tough as I was only allowed to take the tablets, twelve glass of water and berry nectar juice. To avoid headache, I did take tea and boil eggs. In another words, I could not follow the exact directions, but I tried. So, after completing two days, I was not able to lose any weight.
As my trainer/friend told me about the weight loss of 2-4 lbs. after two days. On third day I was allowed to eat one meal and it was clearly described what I could eat. Off course lots of vegetables were allowed but from the choice of fish/chicken/red meat, I can only take a certain amount or portion. I preferred baked chicken with vegetables and some fruits such as apples, grapefruit, melon and pears.
After spending nine days of control diet, to my surprise I did not lose weight. Yes, it was frustrating, since I did not follow the program fully as I excluded workouts, therefore, I did not get my desired results. But later on, it helped me in controlling my diet. So, in one way it really helped me.
Now I did not want to jump for another program, and it was C15 means- I have to do it for fifteen days. I rather opted for Beachbody. I contacted my friend for that who is a coach at Beachbody. As per her directions, I bought the program. It came with a Caffe Latte Whey Shakeology, portion containers, access to real time exercises as well as recorded workouts. After I finished spring semester, I bought the program, but I could not start it because of COVID-19. As soon as I recovered fully from COVID-19. I started 21-day Fix challenge program. I did not lose my momentum from the C-9 challenge. This time I was started workouts after almost two years. The beauty of 21-day Fix is- it offers 30 minutes of mix workouts such as, cardio, Pilates, yoga, and strength training. I thoroughly enjoy all workouts and felt very energetic.
Lastly, I would say losing weight is the most difficult job. Being a mom, it is extremely difficult to self-care. But a little effort can help in creating a balance. Now that we all are welcoming fall, I have designed a schedule for myself with portion fix meals and three days a week workout. Exercise is a remedy for reducing stress and I am hopeful to get my desired results before the end of this year.
